Day 143 / May 13, 2024

This morning we woke up to news about the wildfires in Canada. Not only is this a big problem for Canada, it’s also directly in the route of where we are supposed to be driving in a few weeks. 🥵

We ended up making it a little further into Idaho last night and stopped in Dubois.
Their downtown was absolutely booming. 😆
There was a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) location that advertised free boondocking on the road near their office.
It was perfect for a quick overnight – lots of room for Riggs to run, a playground and right across from the sheriffs department.
All of the exercise made for a very sleepy dog during the drive. My favorite kind of passenger!
Pretty soon we were checking another state off of our list.
Matt spotted the ginormous Washoe Smelter stack from miles away so we had to take a quick detour into Anaconda to get a closer look. 🏭
We can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve, Montana! 🏔️
