Day 75 / March 6, 2024

Goodbye Destin! We’ll miss your white sugar sand beaches but not the high speed death defying road down the middle of your city – IYKYK.

Since today was a drive day we really try to get as much schoolwork done as possible before leaving the campsite. We’ve found that paper pencil work while hurtling down the road isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Watching their video based science (we love the Science Mom courses!) or listening to an audiobook is a much better use of time while we’re driving.
The amount of sand that was tracked into the Beast during our stay on the beach was unreal. The first step in cleaning up was bathing the dog. The second step was getting the hell out of here!
After 28 days as Florida snowbirds, we’ve moved on and are now Alabama snowbirds. 😆
We’ve actually been to Gulf Shores, Alabama before and thought it was amazing. Once we nailed down our dates and tried to get a campsite reservation at Gulf State Park we were pretty devastated to find out that all 507 sites were booked solid all winter long – no joke. I guess the word is out! We were able to get a spot at campground nearby and were sold when we read that their trails connect to the state park bike trails. When we arrived today we found out that this place is pretty darn close to paradise.
This is, hands down, the nicest RV resort we have ever stayed at. I guess that it was actually a good thing that we couldn’t get a spot at Gulf State Park because this new campground is something else!
The campground is HUGE and has three different pools. Since it was our first day here Elleny and Adler wanted to try out all of the pools which made for a chilly two mile bike ride back to our RV!
