Remember the First Road Trip?

By the time we had driven the eight hours home from South Dakota we already had our dream camper picked out. Lance Camper, as Guy and Sue had told us, does make a well constructed travel trailer and quality is important to us. When we found out that Lance also made the only triple bunk bed model on the market we were sold.

A few weeks later we went to a Lance dealer nearby and although we couldn’t see the exact model that we wanted (remember how popular RVing was becoming during the pandemic?) we knew that a Lance would be perfect for our family. Not only are they well made compared to other travel trailers the interior fit and finish reminded us of a yacht. She was sleek, streamlined and every available nook and cranny was utilized just so creating lots of storage space in only twenty-one feet of livable space. Matt, who aspires to be a sailor, but is not very sea worthy due to wicked motion sickness said it reminded him of his favorite boat – a Nordhavn. It was love at first sight…Matt and the Lance, that is.

We ordered a Lance 2185 a few days later and the dealer said it would be ready in six weeks. Perfect. We started planning our first trip to the Florida Keys right away. Our kids were already enrolled in individual distance learning through our local public school district so we were ready to roll.

Except remember how popular RVing was becoming? Six weeks turned into…six months.
